Gran, 55, Becomes Britain’s Oldest Mum of Triplets — and Prepares for Birth with Botox and Hair Extensions
Sharon Cutts, 55, has made headlines as Britain’s oldest mum of triplets, giving birth to Mason, Ryan, and Lily — and she ensured she looked her best for the occasion, treating herself to Botox injections and fresh hair extensions while in hospital.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Sharon, a nurse, explained: “I’ve been trained by a doctor to administer Botox, so I gave myself a small dose during my 11-week stay in the maternity ward. I only injected a little because it’s not recommended while pregnant. I also snuck out to have my hair extensions refreshed — I wanted to look my best when the babies arrived.”

Sharon and her partner Stuart Reynolds, 40, who is 15 years younger than her, celebrated the birth of their three children last month. The couple already had a daughter together through IVF, which cost £15,000, and Sharon also has four grown-up children from a previous relationship.
She said: “The doctor transferred four embryos to give me the best chance of conceiving. At the scan, we discovered three heartbeats. Stuart was shocked, and I cried tears of joy. My first thought was: ‘Oh my God, how am I going to manage this?’”
Stuart admitted: “I was thrilled but also terrified. Now that they’re here, I wouldn’t change a thing.”
The triplets were born by Caesarean section at Nottingham University Hospital, weighing between 4lbs and 5lbs each, after Sharon spent 11 weeks in hospital to reduce the risks of pregnancy at her age. At one point, doctors suggested she consider reducing the pregnancy to protect her health, but she refused.
Sharon explained: “The doctor said we could remove one baby because of my age and the dangers of multiple births, but I said no. If they took one, there was a chance of losing the others. I was determined to carry all three.”
The pregnancy was not without challenges. At 23 weeks, Sharon began bleeding and was admitted to Jessop Hospital in Sheffield before being transferred to Nottingham. “I was convinced I was miscarrying, but the babies were fine,” she said.
Sharon met Stuart four years ago, and with her own menopause underway, IVF was their only option. After two unsuccessful attempts in the UK, they travelled to Cyprus for a third round, which succeeded. Three embryos implanted successfully, leading to the pregnancy.

Sharon, who remains separated from her husband of 24 years, said: “We got another loan for £5,000 to try IVF again. We chose an anonymous donor in Cyprus — one whose description resembled me. Two weeks later, a test confirmed I was pregnant. When the scan showed three babies, I was in shock and delighted at the same time.”
The couple, from Boston, Lincolnshire, now manage 24 feeds and 21 nappy changes a day. Sharon remains committed to fitness and self-care: “I need to stay strong and healthy. I ran four marathons, did weight training and body-building, and I plan to keep up Botox, nails, and looking after myself. I want to be like Barbara Cartland when I’m 80!”
Despite her age, Sharon insists she feels young at heart. “I’ve never felt 55. A friend said I’m an inspiration to older women — I say, don’t give up, just try.”
Her family has been supportive, though reactions were mixed. “One son said I was too old, my mum thought I was ancient, but my daughters are thrilled. My granddaughter is too young to understand yet, but it’s lovely for the babies to have playmates,” she added.
For Sharon and Stuart, the journey to becoming parents of three more children is a triumph of perseverance, determination, and love.
