THE DAY I CHOSE SIX HEARTS

THE DAY I CHOSE SIX HEARTS
The first time I saw them, the room felt different.
Six little faces. Six beating hearts. Six children the world had already labeled as “too much.”
Some saw limits. Some saw a life that would be too hard.
But I saw something else. I saw warmth, innocence, and a kind of love that asks for nothing in return.
And in that quiet moment, a voice inside me whispered, “They belong with you.”
Was I afraid? Yes. There would be long nights, hospital visits, and days when strength felt far away.

But I also knew one truth deep in my heart: love does not wait for perfect conditions. It simply shows up.
So I made a choice that changed everything.
I chose all six of them. Not because it was easy, but because they deserved a home where they would never feel left behind.
Now, every morning begins with laughter.
Small footsteps running toward me. Arms wrapped around me as if I am their whole world.

And somehow, they have become mine too.
They have taught me that being different is not something to hide, but something to honor.
Different does not mean less. It means more love, more strength, more purpose.
To every child still waiting for a family, you are worthy.
And to every person walking a difficult but beautiful path, you are stronger than you know.
No child should ever feel unwanted.
