New York recorded more than 60 UFO sightings in the first half of this year.

New York State, USA, is drawing attention for recording 66 unidentified flying object (UFO) sightings in the first half of 2025, spanning from urban to rural areas, with many objects exhibiting unusual shapes and movements.
According to a report published on July 7th by the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), New York State, USA, witnessed 66 sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs), or unidentified flying phenomena (UAPs), from January to the end of June 2025.
This figure is comparable to the same period last year, when NUFORC recorded 65 incidents, Fox News reported on July 8.

The objects described are very diverse: from glowing spheres and silent triangles to high-speed flying saucers and streams of light with changing shapes.
According to NUFORC, the incidents were not concentrated in one particular area but were spread throughout the state – from remote rural areas and suburbs to the skies above New York City.

Some of the hotspots reported include small towns like Chester, Ridge, and Evans Mills – which are located near a military base and where glowing spheres have appeared multiple times in March.
Some witnesses suspect this phenomenon may be related to military activity.

The most common shapes recorded were spheres, globes, and triangles—often moving in unusual ways such as making sharp 90-degree turns, accelerating suddenly, or flying in a zigzag pattern.
A particularly unusual incident occurred in Chester on March 25th, when a person walking their dog around 6 p.m. reported seeing two white spheres flying extremely fast and very close together.
The person initially thought the two objects were birds, but then realized they were moving at an unusual speed and circling in unison.
As they flew across the sky, the two objects suddenly changed direction by nearly 90 degrees without slowing down, then transformed into dark oval shapes, almost disappearing into the night.
Another notable incident occurred on June 24th, when a passenger on a flight from Toronto to New York reported seeing a metal sphere flying in the opposite direction to the aircraft, 30-60 meters away.
Witnesses described the object as a perfect, shiny sphere, unlike a balloon or a stationary object, but moving steadily away from the plane. Although the two pilots did not see the object, passengers were convinced of its anomalous nature.
Some reports include photos or videos, but NUFORC has not released them publicly. Some speculate that these objects could be drones, fireworks, or the International Space Station, but the majority remain unexplained.
