“Woman Gives Birth in Car by the Side of the Road as Baby Arrives Early on the Way to Hospital Appointment
A woman in Thailand gave birth in her pickup truck on the side of the road after going into premature labor while driving to a hospital appointment.
Pimpapha Kudthed, 29, was on her way to an antenatal check-up when she was suddenly struck by intense pain. Realizing her baby was coming sooner than expected, she quickly pulled over.

Hearing her cries for help, passersby rushed to assist, while others contacted the local Petchkasem Foundation in Petchaburi. Organizations like this often provide emergency support in place of traditional ambulance services, particularly in areas with limited resources.
In dramatic scenes, medics arrived and helped deliver the baby safely inside the vehicle, as Pimpapha’s young daughter watched from the back seat.
After the delivery, both mother and newborn were taken to a nearby hospital in Hua Hin for further care.

Recalling the experience, Pimpapha said, “I was driving to my appointment when I suddenly felt very strong pains in my stomach. I pulled over and realized my baby was coming. Thankfully, the foundation team arrived quickly and helped deliver my baby in the car. I’m very grateful for their help.”
Following the remarkable roadside birth, some locals viewed the event as a sign of good luck, with reports suggesting that people even used the pickup truck’s registration numbers to purchase lottery tickets.
