Miraculous Freebirth: Husband Catches Baby
Kaylee Wilson experienced a challenging pregnancy and an extraordinary freebirth following a previous caesarean section. Her last pregnancy had ended in a C-section after her homebirth midwife stepped back because she had passed 42 weeks. She was transferred to a hospital, where she was encouraged into an induction that ultimately resulted in surgery.

Determined to reclaim her birth experience this time, Kaylee took control of her pregnancy and her choices. At 42 weeks and 1 day, her waters began to leak. What followed was early labour and active labour spanning six days, with roughly 30 hours of involuntary pushing before her son was born.
Observant viewers can see that her baby’s head was moulded to the side at birth, a condition called asynclitism, which contributed to the longer labour and early involuntary pushing. When contractions aren’t strong enough to rotate the baby, the body instinctively calls for extra effort through involuntary pushing.
This birth is a powerful example of the importance of trust and patience. In many hospital settings, a labour like this might have been stopped long before the baby was ready. But given time, Kaylee and her son naturally worked together, allowing the birth to progress safely and organically.

Choosing a freebirth allowed Kaylee to protect both herself and her baby. It’s likely that, in a conventional medical setting, she would have faced another caesarean due to the unique variations of her labour.
Kaylee was supported throughout by her husband, her three daughters, her mother, and an unregistered midwife. She gave birth in a field outside their home, surrounded by nature, with her husband catching their son in a moment of pure trust and connection.
