The joy of the Fourth of July turned into a nightmare we never saw coming.

What started as a fun evening with fireworks and family quickly turned into a parent’s worst fear. When I picked up my two-year-old son, I noticed his eyes were swelling, and marks on his face looked disturbingly like bite wounds. Our sweet dog, the Australian Shepherd, was responsible.
