When the World Feels Heavier Than Before

Lately, everything feels heavier. The headlines grow louder, the arguments sharper, and even the sky seems dimmer on certain days. I asked my mother why everything suddenly feels so frightening, and instead of answering right away, she simply held me closer.

Then she whispered words I will never forget: “When love grows cold, the world forgets God.”

That truth settled deep within me. Because perhaps the most frightening thing is not the storms we see or the conflicts we hear about, but how easily we have stopped looking at one another with love.

And yet, even in the middle of all this noise, there is still something quiet and steady. I can still feel Him in the unnoticed moments, in the gentle reminders that light continues to exist, even when darkness feels near.

Maybe we are not meant to understand everything. Maybe what we truly need is to return—to Him, and to each other. If the world feels like it is shaking, perhaps it is not meant to break us, but to awaken us. Not into fear, but into faith. Not into anger, but into love.

Love has not disappeared. It is still here, waiting patiently for us to choose it again.
